n early 2016, the consortium was awarded the Evidence for Development (E4D) activity, a five-year, USD 13.5 million program funded by USAID/West Africa’s Regional Health Office. The program aimed to increase the availability of evidence to improve health interventions, resource allocation, policy advocacy, and program planning.
E4D focused on strengthening the technical and management capacity of indigenous civil society organizations, institutions, and networks. The long-term objective was to enable local and regional organizations to independently design and implement research and evaluation activities, from study design through dissemination, using a country-level lens and a strong regional focus.
